Nominations called for PC Elections.

Nominations for the election of members to the provincial council of North, Central and North Western will begin on 25th of July.

Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has announced that the period for acceptance of nominations would conclude at 12 noon on 1st of August. Nominations are accepted at nomination centers setup in assembly halls of relevant District Secretariats . Security deposits will be accepted from the commencement date of  nominations until 12 noon on the closing date of nominations i.e. 31st July 2013.

The Commissioner has also said that in the event a single nomination has not received,  another time period to accept nominations will  be declared. In case of a single nomination being received  and accepted, the relevant  party/Group will be declared as elected , uncontested.

The date for the elections will be announced after the closing of nominations by considering the no of nominations received.
