Sri Lanka Deputy HC in Chennai Hosts an ‘IFTAR’

Dignitaries from the Muslim community in
Tamil Nadu representing the Government, academia, business and media
participated at the ‘Iftar’. Prominent political and spiritual leaders
and Heads of Sri Lanka establishments in Tamil Nadu also participated at
the event.
Delivering the welcome address A.S.
Khan, Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Southern India stated
that the government of Sri Lanka is determined to prevent any
inter-communal tension at any cost and that the Muslims in Sri Lanka get
a good opportunity to use the noble phenomena of the Ramadhan fasting
for peaceful coexistence. Reiterating the indivisible bond between the
people of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu, he invited Indian business community
to explore the vast opportunities in Sir Lanka.
After the ‘Iftar’ followed by ‘Magrib’
Prayers, the Chief Quazi of Tamil Nadu, Dr.Slahuddin Mohammed Ayub and
Mohammed Imran Sait of Islamic Foundation Trust spoke about the
significance of Ramadan.
