Vigneswaran receives Chief Ministerial Appointment Letter

Former Supreme Court judge C.V. Vigneswaran received his Chief Ministerial appointment letter from the Northern Province Governor – Major General G.A. Chandrasiri, today (Oct.01).
Vigneswaran, who was nominated as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the Northern Provincial Council polls, obtained a total of 132,255 preferential votes topping the preferential vote list in Jaffna District.
Monday, Vigneswaran, the chief Ministerial candidate of the Tamil National Alliance has met the Governor at his official residence in Jaffna, along with M.A. Sumanthiran MP. The Northern Province Governor G.A. Chandrasri said, at the meeting after he explained that he will be only fulfilling the constitutional duties expected of him as a Governor of the province representing the President of the country, that Vigneswaran agreed to accept the Letter of Appointment from the Governor.
